The Ottertail Central Bulldogs outdueled Hillcrest Lutheran Academy to take first place at the Quad County Conference Girls Golf Meet on Thursday at Pebble Lake Golf Course in Fergus Falls.  OTC had a team score of 415 and the Comets posted a score of 438.  They were the only two schools who were able to field a full team for the event.

Medalist honors went to Abby Koel of Pillager with a 91.  Adysen Tysdal of OTC also had a 91, finishing second.  Third place went to Bailey Knoblauch of Pillager with a 92 and fourth place went to Jessica St. Martin of West Central Area with a 96.  Rounding out the medal winners were Audra Ewan of Hillcrest with a 98 and Grace Nyhus of OTC with a 101.

“Jessica St. Martin has really found confidence in her driver and consistently succeeds thanks to her mental toughness,” noted WCA Head Coach Kari Kreft.  “Lexi Hunter, our newcomer to the varsity and just an eighth-grader, is still learning the ins and outs of golf at the varsity level and is really hitting the ball well.  Emily Courrier had a good day.  She got in a few situations where she encountered some penalty strokes and rough lies, but handled it well and enjoyed her day.  Emily is always so positive and has fun with every group she golfs with.”
