The Pelican Rapids boys track and field team hosted the Section 6A True Team Meet on Tuesday. Fifteen teams participated in the event with Wadena-Deer Creek scoring 820.5 points to claim first place. Osakis was second with 790.5 and Frazee took third with 749. They were followed by Ottertail Central (730), Ashby/Brandon-Evansville (572.5), Breckenridge (549), United Clay-Becker (546.5), Barnesville (536), Pelican Rapids (522), West Central Area (506.5), Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale (360), United North Central (345), New York Mills (240), Browerville (169) and Wheaton/Herman-Norcross (114.5).
Eli Sytsma had a big day for the Vikings as he won the high jump (5-10.00) and the triple jump (40-05.00), and also took sixth place in the 200 meter dash (23.97). Zane Brosowske claimed third place in the pole vault (11-00.00). David Johnston finished sixth in the 800 meter run (2:10.78). The Vikings also took sixth in the 4x400 relay (3:48.92) and eighth in the 4x800 relay (9:36.63).
