Barnesville Girls Take Runner-Up Honors at 6A Track and Field Meet

The Barnesville girls track and field team was a close second place to champion Pelican Rapids on Tuesday as the Vikings hosted the Section 6A True Team Meet.  Pelican recorded 787.5 points to win the event and Barnesville tallied 778.  Osakis was third with 722.5 and Frazee was fourth at 704.5.  There were fifteen teams competing in the meet.

The Barnesville efforts were led by Samantha Passa with a first place in the triple jump (34-09.00), Jordan Tschumperlin with a first in the high jump (5-00.00) and a third in the triple jump (32-09.25), and Lindsey Rotz with a first place in the 800 (2:24.84) and a third place in the 1600 (5:36.40).  Kya Anderson was third in the shot put (32-02.75), Emily Schoenecker and Emily Smith were third (15-09.50) and sixth (15-03.00), respectively, in the long jump, Schoenecker was third in the 400 (1:02.76), and Elora Passa took fifth place in the discus (89-05).  Belle Peterson was fifth in the high jump (4-10.00) and in the pole vault, Kimberly Maesse finished seventh (7-00.00) and Emily Spilde was eighth (6-06.00).  Hadley Pearson had an eighth place finish in the 3200 meter run (13:23.88).

In the relay events, Barnesville was third in the 4x100 (53.58), 4x200 (1:53.94) and 4x400 (4:22.70), and fifth in the 4x800 (11:09.48).
