Brandon-Evansville and Browerville combined for 30 runs in a high school baseball contest on Thursday with the Chargers posting a 16-14 win on their home field. Jayden Hoidahl was the winning pitcher and Tanner Bitzan earned the save with an inning of scoreless relief.

“Tonight both teams were hitting the ball all over the park and the game went back and forth all night,” said B-E Head Coach Brian Perleberg.  “Every time we would put together a big offensive inning, Browerville would come right back and regain the momentum.  We received a big relief pitching performance from Jayden Hoidahl, who made his varsity debut and ended up getting the win. He handled the pressure well and kept us in the game until we were able to rally back in the bottom of the 6th.”

The Tigers had a 14-11 lead in the top of the 6th inning when Jesse Perleberg made an outstanding diving catch to end the inning for the Tigers leaving the bases loaded.  “That catch saved at least three runs and kept us in striking distance,” said Coach Perleberg.  “It fired the guys up and we were able to carry that momentum into the bottom half of the inning.”

Perleberg continued his heroics as he delivered a three-run double on a 2-2 count.  Gaven Jacobson led Brandon-Evansville at the plate, driving in seven runs and going 2-for-3.  Jacobson walked in the first, doubled in the second, singled in the third and walked again in the sixth.

B-E tallied 14 hits with multiple hits coming from Perleberg, Keagan Schiele, Corbin Olson, Jacobson and Marshall Riedel.  Schiele and Perleberg each had three hits.
