The Fergus Falls girls golf team turned in their best team score of the season as they fired a 382 at the Minnewaska Area Blue Jacket Girls Golf Invitational on Friday.  The strong field was led by Detroit Lakes (324) and Alexandria (330) with Minnewaska Area (332) third and Marshall (358) fourth.  The Otters finished fifth.

Medalist honors went to Shelby Busker of Detroit Lakes with a 72.  Rachel Swartz of Marshal was second with a 77 and Madi McGinty of Minnewaska Area claimed third with a 78.

Ellia Soydara led the Otters with an 89, while Greta Christenson and Sydney Thacker each came in with rounds of 94.  Amy Johnson and Mady Eklund each shot 105 and Kenzy Braeger had a 129.

“It rained for about the first 3 hours of the tournament today,” commented Fergus Falls Head Coach Ben Jurgens.  “However, Ellia Soydara still managed to shoot her low tournament score of 89 for her career.  Mady Eklund also played really well today with a 94.  Our team shot our low score for the year today at 382, but in this weather it makes it more impressive.”
