The Ottertail Central boys golf team hosted their Quad County Conference Golf meet with ten team participating at Thumper Pond on Tuesday, winning the tournament with a score of 340.  Underwood was second at 378, Hillcrest placed Third with a 379 and Rothsay was fourth at 395.

OTC’s Patrick Dilly shot a 77 to claim medalist honors. Noah Chase shot an 86, finishing third, Drew Young (87) was fifth and Parker Fraki (90) came in sixth.

Underwood’s Trevor Swonger was runner-up with an 82 and Canaan Kugler placed fourth with an 86.  Logan Fridaard shot a 91 and Braden Thorson came in with a 99 to complete the team scoring for the Rockets.  The Rockets next  meets will be at Long Prairie on Thursday.

“I thought our guys played well under tough conditions today,” said Underwood Head Coach Chuck Ross.  “It was cold and the wind and rain started up later in the day.  Before the meet we discussed that we shot a team total of 398 last year and wanted to take 15 strokes off that this year so when we came in 20 strokes better we reached our goal.  Also this is our best team finish with all the Quad County teams present in the past seven years so things are much improved.”
