Cowboys Sweep Frazee in HOL Double Header

The Breckenridge Cowboys swept Frazee in a Heart O’ Lakes Conference double header on Tuesday, improving their record to 7-1 and their HOL conference record to 4-0.

In game one the Cowboys outscored Frazee 11-0 in 5 innings on only 6 base hits but drew 7 walks from Frazee.  Hunter Feigum, Cooper Yaggie, Jake Wendorff, Jack Aigner and Braden Wahl all had hits for the Cowboys. The score was only 3-0 after 3 innings. All season long the Cowboys have found a way to have one big inning and tonight was no exception scoring 8 runs in the 4th.  The Cowboy pitching staff was solid with Carter Haugen pitching the first three innings, striking out one, walking two and Cooper Yaggie pitched the last two innings, striking out 4 batters and giving up two walks. The duo combined giving up only two hits.

In game two of the night the Cowboys defeated Frazee 15-4 but like the first game it was a 3-1 game going into the 6th inning when the Cowboys exploded for 12 runs, picking up 11 hits and drawing 12 walks. Feigum and Luke Arnhalt each had a single; Emmit Vig and Joe Skilbred each had two hits. Braden Wahl was the offensive leader with 3 hits and 3 RBI.

Connor Twidwell started on the mound throwing three innings, striking out 2 and walking 2. Wendorff threw the next two innings, striking out one and walking 5 batters. Vig threw the last inning striking out one and walking 2 batters.

The two conference leaders match up as the Cowboys face Perham at home on Thursday for a double header starting at 4:00pm on Cowboy Field.
