The Ashby-Brandon-Evansville 7th and 8th grade track athletes finally got a junior high meet on Friday night in Pelican Rapids. Fourteen teams competed in the meet. Only the top six in each event and grade level is recognized.

Seventh grader Skylar Bitzan placed fifth in the 200m dash (30.52). Skylar also competed in the 100m dash and long jump.  

Eighth grader EmmaLee Brethorst also placed in the 200. She earned sixth with a time of 31.07. EmmaLee also did the 100m hurdles and long jump. Although she didn’t place in the top six, she did earn personal bests in all of her events.

Valerie Deschene placed fifth in the 100m hurdles (18.97) and tied for fourth in the pole vault (5-06).

Grace Otto and Brooke Quinn placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the1600. Grace finished the mile in 6:42. Brooke was only a second behind her.

Nathan Anderson placed sixth in the 100m dash (12.89), second in the 100m hurdles (18.70), and sixth in the triple jump (26 feet).

Logan Froemming placed third in the triple jump (30 feet) and had a huge personal best in the mile running it in 5:40. He took off nearly 15 seconds.

Dierk Goeden won the pole vault with a jump of 9 feet.
