The Fergus Falls girls track and field team recorded six first place finishes on Tuesday as they competed at the Brainerd Triangular.  The host Warriors won the team title with 126.5 points and the Otters were second with 65.5 points, just edging out third place Bemidji (65).

Sabrina Fronning won the 100 meter hurdles (15.42) and 300 meter hurdles (47.09), and also anchored the first place 4 x 400 relay team (4:20.46) which included Anna Anderson, Miranda Hoffman and Jadyn McKeever.

“Sabrina had a stand out evening for us,” said Head Coach Niki Welde.  “In addition to her two wins in the hurdle events, she brought the 4 x 4 relay team back from a near 50 meter gap to win the race at the finish line in a dramatic finish.  The whole team ran strong relay legs today.”

Other first place finishes went to Emily Nuss in the 3200 (12:47.45), Ainsley Hansen in the high jump (5-02.00) and Svea Smestad in the shot put (34-01.00).

Earning runner-up finishes were Rachel Wulfkuhle in the shot put (33-09) and Jadyn McKeever in the pole vault (9-00.00).

Anna Anderson claimed third in the 200 meter dash (27.68) and was joined by Miranda Hoffman, Ashlyn Fronning and Hallie Sheridan on the third place 4 x 100 relay team (53.10).  The Otters 4 x 200 relay team (2:08.07) of Ingrid Salveson, Emilie Carlson, Neveah Komestakes and Becca Schindler also finished third.  Audrey Mudford wound up third in the high jump (4-10.00).

Aspen Rohde was fourth in the 1600 (5:51.11), Rausch was fourth in the pole vault (8-00.00) and Mudford came in fourth in the long jump (15-08.75).

“Svea had a huge season best to win the shot put and Rachel had her season best to bring home second,” noted Coach Welde.  “Ainsley’s win in the high jump tied her career best.”
