Quad County Conference Golfers Hold First Meet at the Legacy

The Quad County Conference boys and girls golf teams gathered at the Legacy Golf Course near Brainerd for their opening tournament of the season on Monday.

 

Ottertail Central won both team competitions.  The girls fielded the only complete team in the field and posted a team score of 488.  Megan Weber of OTC was medalist with a 110 and Abby Koel of Pillager took runner-up honors with a 113.  Grace Nyhus (119), Adysen Tysdal (124) and Makenna Tysdal (135) rounded out the team scoring for the Bulldogs, placing third, fourth and sixth individually.  Bailey Knoblauch of Pillager was fifth with a 125.  Jenna Fabre of Rothsay came in with a 137.

 

The winning score for the OTC boys was 350.  Underwood was second with a 383, followed by Rothsay (483) and Pillager (489).  Jackson Nyhus of OTC was medalist with an 81 and Trevor Swonger of Underwood claimed second place with an 86.  Next came OTC golfers Carter Dilly (87), Noah Chase (88) and Parker Fraki (94).  Braden Thorson of Underwood was sixth with a 98.

 

Nick Miller shot a round of 100 for OTC.  Other Underwood scores included a 99 from Canaan Kugler, a 100 from Bryce Jorgenson and a 101 from Logan Frigaard.  Rothsay scores included a 113 for Ethan Curtis, a 120 for Trevin Erickson, a 121 for Chris Carrillo and a 129 for Sam Danielson.


“Overall, it was a good day and a difficult course for the first meet of the year,” commented Head Coach Chuck Ross of Underwood.  “Kudos to Trevor and Canaan for placing 2nd and 6th in the first meet.”
