The Brandon-Evansville softball team held Wheaton/Herman-Norcross to just 2 hits on Monday afternoon in Brandon as the Chargers registered a 10-0 victory in five innings. Winning pitcher Mikenna Pattrin went the distance, striking out ten and walking just one.
B-E scored five in the first inning, added 3 in the second and pushed across single runs in both the third and fourth innings as they collected 11 hits in the game. They were led by Kristen Kokett (2-3, 2R), Bailey Schaefer (1-3, R, RBI), Pattrin (1-3, R, RBI), Alena Shores (2-3, R, RBI), Haddey Zastrow (3-3, R) and Sydney Schaefer (2-2, R).
“Overall, we played a very sound game,” stated Head Coach Kasi Sieling of the Chargers. “Mikenna threw very well and the defense played a clean game to back her up. Offensively, we executed, were aggressive and took advantage of all we were given. This was a great conference win for us and I’m happy with the way we played all around.”
