The Ashby baseball team took the lead late in the game on Monday as they went on to defeat Sebeka by the score of 13-2.

The game was 3-2 with the Arrows batting in the top of the fifth when Torin Olson tripled on an 0-2 count, scoring three runs.  Scott Johnson led the Arrows to the victory by driving in five runs, going 3-for-3 at the plate with a single and a pair of doubles.

Christian Norby was the winning pitcher, going three innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out seven.  Hunter Norby and Olson entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Ashby had eleven hits in the game with Johnson, Norby and Dakota Ecker managing multiple hits.

“We came out and played better than I could have ever imagined for our first game and first time being outside,” said Ashby Head Coach Jared Larson.  “We had terrific at bats and our pitchers attacked the zone.  Torin could have hung his head with a rough outing on the mound, but he came up with a huge 2-out triple to extend the lead and give us some breathing room.  I was very pleased with our effort today.”
