The Perham boys’ basketball team started the Section 8AA Tournament with a 79-36 romp over Staples-Motley on Thursday night at ‘The Hive’ in Perham. The Yellowjackets led 38-13 at the half and shot 54% (33-61) from the field, making 8-of-19 (42%) from beyond the arc.
Four Perham players finished in double figures, led by Charlie Rasmussen with 18. Jensen Beachy and Finn Diggins each added 16 and Elijah Morris made all five of his shots, including hitting 4-of-4 from 3-point range, contributing 14 points in just eleven minutes on the floor. Diggins had a team high 8 rebounds and Beachy led the team with 7 assists.
Perham has won 25 games in a row. They are 26-1 and will face Roseau at 2:45pm Saturday at Concordia College in Moorhead.
