Terina Blascyk led the West Central Area Knights at the West Central Conference Track and Field Championships, winning the high jump with a jump of 4-feet-11-inches.  Maci Robinson was runner-up in the shot put (34’ 11) and Keira Gehrke took second in the 100 meter dash (13.58).  Sydney Ulrich placed in 3 individual events, taking fourth in the 100 (13.73) and long jump (14’ 6.75) and sixth in the triple jump (30’ 8.5).  She was also part of the 4th place 4x100 Meter Relay (54.25) along with Whitney Westrom, Keyenna Gehrke and Keira Gehrke.

Carter Kjsesbo had the best showing for the boys, taking second in the 1600 meter run (4:47.21).  Benjamin Nyreen was 7th in the discus (109’ 6) and Isaac Allen came in 8th in the high jump (5’ 3).

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK



Two Fergus Falls High School graduates are in the national spotlight in NCAA Division III Women's Hockey.

On Thursday, 1983 Fergus Falls High School graduate Joe Cranston, in his 25th season as the head women’s hockey coach at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, was named the NCAA Division III Women’s Hockey Coach of the Year.  On Sunday afternoon, Cranston’s Falcons defeated Elmira College 4-1 at Hunt Arena in River Falls to win the 2024 NCAA Division III Women’s Ice Hockey National Championship.  The national title is the first in UWRF’s history during its 25th anniversary season, finishing with a  31-0 overall record, the most single season wins in NCAA Division III Women’s Ice Hockey history and the fourth ever undefeated season.
