Lucea Wales earned All-Conference honors in four events to lead the Ashby/Brandon-Evansville Bolts at the Little Eight Conference Track and Field Meet on Tuesday in Wheaton.  Wales was the champion in the 100 meter dash, 100 meter hurdles, 300 meter hurdles and the long jump.  She was joined by teammate Taylor Dingwall who won the high jump to also receive All-Conference honors. 

The Bolts 4x800 boys’ relay team was All-Conference with a first place finish by the team of Darius Grussing, Cole Johnson, Cohen Reiland and Benjamin Myron.

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK



Two Fergus Falls High School graduates are in the national spotlight in NCAA Division III Women's Hockey.

On Thursday, 1983 Fergus Falls High School graduate Joe Cranston, in his 25th season as the head women’s hockey coach at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, was named the NCAA Division III Women’s Hockey Coach of the Year.  On Sunday afternoon, Cranston’s Falcons defeated Elmira College 4-1 at Hunt Arena in River Falls to win the 2024 NCAA Division III Women’s Ice Hockey National Championship.  The national title is the first in UWRF’s history during its 25th anniversary season, finishing with a  31-0 overall record, the most single season wins in NCAA Division III Women’s Ice Hockey history and the fourth ever undefeated season.
