Day One Results in Class A State Track and Field Meet

The Class A Boys and Girls Track and Field Meet got underway on Tuesday at St. Michael-Albertville High School with finals in several field events and preliminary races in the running events.  Finals in Class A will be held on Wednesday afternoon, beginning at 3:30pm.  The Class AAA meet also held their first session on Tuesday, while Class AA begins on Wednesday.  Here are the results for area athletes from day one of the Class A meet.

Nash and Miller Establish Hillcrest Records at Barnesville Track and Field Invite

Two Hillcrest Lutheran Academy Track and Field school records were broken at the Barnesville Booster Invitational Meet on Tuesday.  “Maddie Miller broke the Girls 200 from 2015 with a time of 26.88 placing 2nd,” reported head coach Allen Aase of the Comets.  “In the boys’ high Jump, Vincent Nash broke the record set in 1986 by clearing 6' 2" and taking first place. Vincent has been jumping for only one week and his previous best jump was 5' 6" He also placed 7th in the long jump (18'4.5").
