By Craig Olson 04/14/2025, 2:45pm CDT

Senior Holden Rinke of the Border West boys’ track and field team is the Olson Oil Company Athlete of the Week.

Competing at the Mark Ekren Invitational at UM-Morris, Rinke won the long jump (20’ 08”) and the triple jump (40’ 11”), while finishing fourth in the 200 meter dash (24.21) and placing sixth in the 100 meter dash (11.49).

Border West claimed the girls team title and Sauk Centre won the boys event at the Mark Ekren Invitational Track and Field Meet on Thursday at UM-Morris.  Hancock head coach Kalee Nuest summed it up this way, “Overall, we had the strongest first meet I can remember in my 6 years of coaching.  Seventeen of our returning athletes posted personal records in their events, and the weather was less than ideal!  I am really happy with everyone’s performance.”
