The Fergus Falls girls’ basketball team celebrated a 21-8 season with their awards banquet on Monday night.  The Otters were Section 8AAA runners-up and finished 3rd in the Central Lakes Conference behind Alexandria and Brainerd.  Brynn Sternberg moved into sixth all-time in scoring for the Otter Girls’ Basketball program with 1,505 points.  She also broke the single game assists record with 15 vs Sauk Rapids-Rice.

Top-seeded Benilde-St. Margaret’s advanced to the championship game of the Class AAA State Girls Basketball Tournament with a 60-52 victory over the Alexandria Cardinals on Thursday afternoon at Williams Arena on the campus of the University of Minnesota.  Benilde forced 18 Alexandria turnovers and held the Cardinals to 35% (18-51) shooting on the day.  The Cardinals never led in the game.
