The season ended for the Fergus Falls 8th grade boys basketball team with games against West Central Area on February 21 and February 26.  Here is the recap from Coach Andrew Gunther.

Thursday, February 21, the Fergus Falls 8th Grade boys basketball team hosted West Central Area for a game and a half.  The Otters had a great first half and held them to only 8 points.  In the second half, they started making shots because we came out flat footed.  We got things going again and won 50 to 32. Our three leading scorers were; Jaydon Manteufel with 15 points, Javarius Hughes with 14 points, and Grant Ackerson with 10 points.

In the extra half, we struggled defensively and rebounding.  We lost 22 to 11 and their point guard had 12 points.  We had four scorers; Nathan Winter with 4 points, Eli Muchow with 3 points, and Jack Horgen and Aiden Shern with 2 points each.

Tuesday, February 26, we traveled to Barret for an A Game.  It was a hard fought game.  We were losing 13 to 10 at half time.  We struggled to rebound. We started pressing them in the second half.  We shot one for eight from the free throw line while West Central shot three for fifteen.  We got our first lead with about 18 seconds to go.  We won 26 to 25.  We had six different scorers with Josh Sternberg being leading scorer with 10 points.

In the B Game at Elbow Lake, we got pressed from the get go and started the game down 12 to 2.  Things didn't change after that either.  We struggled getting back and rebounding.  We were losing 30 to 4 at halftime.  We started playing better in the second half.  We lost 48 to 18.  We only had three scorers; James Hajicek with 12 points, Charlie Fuder with 4 points, and Nathan Winter with 2 points.
