The Hillcrest boys basketball team dropped a 57-42 decision to Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal on Monday night in Twin Valley.  The loss ended a 3-game winning streak for the Comets and puts Hillcrest at 12-10 on the season.

Leaders for Hillcrest were Sander Frustol (12 points, 4 rebounds), Thomas Zwiers (11 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals) and Micah Foss (10 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals).

“We came out early and defended and made good decisions,” said Head Coach Gregg Preston of Hillcrest, “but midway through the first half we struggled shooting the ball and Braden Lien of the Titans connected for 13 first half points and 21 for the game.  Although we came out and pressured the ball fairly well the second half, we did not shoot well enough to make a serious comeback in the second half.  Thomas Zwiers was 5-for-6 from the floor and pulled down 9 boards.”

The Comets will close out their regular season at Hancock on Thursday night.
