The Rothsay girls basketball team hit the road Monday night for a playin game in Section 6A and returned home with a 57-54 victory over Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal. The Tigers will advance to first round playoff action on Thursday at top-seeded Pelican Rapids.
Jayna Gronewold (35 points, 9 steals, 7 rebounds, 4 assists) scored career point number 1000 in the contest. Jenna Fabre added 7 points and 8 rebounds. Madison Tillman and Abby Honer each contributed 4 points and 6 rebounds.
“I was so proud of our defensive energy,” said Rothsay Head Coach Anita Heier. “Our steals and deflections turned into some easy baskets. Exciting way to start the playoffs.”
