Cowboys Qualify Haire, Erlandson and Differding for State Wrestling

The Breckenridge Cowboys saw seniors Zach Haire and Tanner Differding, and sophomore Daniel Erlandson all qualify for the Class A State Wrestling Tournament on Saturday as runners-up in their respective weight classes.

Haire was runner-up at 120 pounds.  He won his quarterfinal match by pin over Brien Poser of Ottertail Central.  He then won a 3-2 decision over Quinn Kern of Bertha-Hewitt-Verndale-Parkers Prairie in his semifinal match and lost a 7-0 decision to Dane Niemi of New York Mills in the finals.

 

Erlandson (195) defeated Shaine Guggenberger of Staples-Motley 5-2 in the semifinals, lost to Wyatt Olson of West Central Area/Ashby/Brandon-Evansville in the championship match and then won his true second bout 6-3 over Jaden Finck of Bertha-Hewitt-Verndale-Parkers Prairie.

 

Differding (220) took a 4-3 decision from Devin Stone of West Central Area/Ashby/Brandon-Evansville in his quarterfinal match, lost to Wyatt Thorson of Ottertail Central 5-2 in the semi’s and then won a 6-5 decision of Jackson Poepping of Barnesville in his true second match.
