Barnesville Sending Two Wrestlers to State Tournament

The Barnesville Trojans will be sending two wrestlers to the Class A State Tournament as both finished second in their respective weight classes on Saturday at the Section 6A meet in Wadena.

Senior Preston Snobl was runner-up at 182 pounds.  Snobl won by fall over Gordon Enyart of Staples-Motley in his quarterfinal round match, pinned John Ziebell of Pelican Rapids in his semifinal bout and then lost by fall to Zavier Grefe of Bertha-Hewitt-Verndale-Parkers Prairie in the championship match.  

 

At 106 pounds, seventh-grader Ayden Hauck finished as runner-up.  Hauck won a 6-4 decision over Simon Snyder of Wadena-Deer Creek, won a 12-2 major decision over David Revering of Bertha-Hewitt-Verndale-Parkers Prairie, and then lost the title match by pin to Eli Larson of Border West.


Other place winners for Barnesville included Jackson Poepping (220) in third place; fourth place finishers Chase Brenner (120) and Brady Kroll (170); fifth place finishers Tim Boone (126) and Hunter Anderson (145); and Tanner Kadrmas (152) in sixth place.
