Knights lose to Owls on the road

The Hancock Owls broke open a close game in the last few minutes to post a 62-53 win over the West Central Area Knights on Saturday afternoon.

The Owls hit 24-54 shots for 44% including 5-17 threes and went 9-14 from the free throw line.  The Knights hit 18-51 shots for 35%, 6-23 threes and went 11-16 from the line.

 

The Knights held a 35-27 rebound advantage.  They turned the ball over 13 times to 7 for the Owls.

 

Teigen Moritz scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Knights.  Gage Staples was also in double figures with 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists.  Jack VanKempen added 9 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists. Jacob Bright had 8 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.  Tate Christenson added 6 points, Grant Beuckens 5 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.

 

Scoring for the Owls was Bennett Nienhaus with 20 points, Payton Rohloff with 17, Preston Rohloff with 13, Cole Reese with 7 and Connor Reese with 5.

 

WCA (13-8) will play at Underwood on Tuesday night and then end the regular season at Parkers Prairie on Friday.
