Trojans Post Road Win Over Cowboys

Barnesville defeated Breckenridge by a score of 53-44 on the Cowboys home court Saturday afternoon. The halftime score was Breckenridge 26-25.

Barnesville capitalized on 16 Breckenridge turnovers.  The Trojans shot 39% (18-46) from the field. They were led by Grant Inniger (12 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals), Kellen Hinsz (11 points, 2 steals), Brooks Martinson (10 points, 4 assists) and Adam Tonsfeldt (10 points, 4 steals).  Sam Askegaard chased down 7 rebounds for the Trojans.

 

Leading scorers for the Cowboys were Noah Christensen with 15 and Jonah Christensen with 15. Leading rebounders were Noah Christensen with 9, Jonah Christensen with 6, and Caden McGough with 5. McGough also added 4 assists.

 

“We had a physical, defensive game with Barnesville and couldn't quite get enough offense in the second half,” said Breckenridge Assistant Coach Derek Grahn. “We played with a lot of effort and energy but were unable to fight back in the second half.”

 

Barnesville (16-7) will play at Hawley on Tuesday night and will close out their regular season schedule on Friday at home against East Grand Forks.

 

Breckenridge (12-11) will host Crookston on Tuesday and Mahnomen/Waubun on Friday.
