Spartan Men Produce 99 Points in Win Over Western Tech

The M State Mens’ Basketball team shot 52% (36-69) from the field and made 18-of-39 (46%) 3-pointers as they put 99 points on the board in their 99-72 win over Western Technical College on Saturday afternoon in Fergus Falls.

Martin Lafond scored 24 points off the bench, making 10-of-14 shots. He also dished out 5 assists and pulled down 5 rebounds.  TJ Martin (17 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals) Alend Alemadi (11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists) and Kyler Newman (8 points, 6 rebounds) were also productive off the bench.  Austin Miller (18 points, 5 assists), Samuel Priem (11 points, 4 assists) and Aaron Solberg (7 points, 10 rebounds, 2 steals) also made key contributions to the Spartan victory.

 

Western Tech made 40% (25-62) of their shots from the floor and 7-of-20 (35%) 3’s.  They also made 15-of-17 free throws. They were led by Justen Kidd (12 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists), Kadar Farah (10 points, 7 rebounds) and Andrew Scott (9 points, 6 rebounds).

 

M State (13-13 overall, 6-7 MCAC South) finishes their home season with an 11-3 record.  They will travel to Rochester on Monday night to complete their season with a makeup game against the Yellowjackets.
