Hillcrest Lutheran Academy hosted the Rothsay Tigers in their final Little Eight Conference matchup.  The Comets commanded the entire game and dominated the first half going in to the break with a 34-16 lead.  Hillcrest won by a 63-30 final.

“We had a very good team effort with 11 Comets in the scoring column and eight different players with steals in the first half,” commented Head Coach Gregg Preston of Hillcrest.  “Our guys have been focused, intense, and have made good progress the past few weeks.”

Sander Frustol led all scorers with 18 and Gabriel Preston finished with 15.  Frustol had 7 rebounds, Preston led with 4 steals and Logan Disabella had 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals. The Comets made 57% (25-44) of their field goal attempts and 38% (8-21) on their 3’s.

“We didn’t come ready to play and ready to match their effort level,” said Rothsay Head Coach Taylor Fuhs.  “We were sloppy with the ball and when we did take care of the ball we didn’t convert our opportunities.  I want to congratulate Coach Preston as this was his last home game coaching the Comets. His tenure at Hillcrest Academy is incredible. He has molded great men throughout the years and has done great things for our Conference.”

Rothsay was led by Tanner Heier with 10 points and 4 rebounds.
