Hawley guard Jayden Carlisle had 20 points to lead the visiting Nuggets to a 63-58 Heart O'Lakes conference basketball win over the Pelican Rapids Vikings. The Vikings led 28-24 at the half and were led in scoring by McHale Korf who had 14 points. Three other Nuggets were in double figures as Jacob Vetter had 13, Chase Libak 11, and Gunnar Lawson 10.

"Our guys battled hard tonight but we once again came up short as Hawley took control in the last eight minutes of the game," head coach John Gullingsrud said. "The game was tied up at 43 when they went on a quick 7-0 run that sealed our fate as we couldn't close the gap after that. We are still struggling to find our way in late game situations as we have been unable to hit a big shot to give us momentum on offense or come up with a stop defensively when we really need it."

The loss dropped Pelican Rapids to 9-15 overall on the season and 2-9 in the HOL, while Hawley improved to 18-4 overall and 8-3 in the HOL.
