Johnson Sparks Otter Boys in Return from Injury

Senior captain Matthew Johnson returned to the Fergus Falls boys basketball lineup on Friday night after missing seven games with a shoulder injury.  Johnson led the Otters with 24 points on 8-of-10 shooting, distributed 4 assists, had 4 steals and grabbed 5 rebounds in their 71-60 win over Sartell.

The Otters made 56% (27-48) of their field goal attempts and 61% (11-18) of their three-pointers.  Nic Pearson hit all three of his treys and finished with 14 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.  Ashwin Stratton was also in double figures with 10 points.  Dominic Aguilar contributed 8 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds.

 

Fergus Falls led by twelve points at halftime, 34-24, and built their lead to 16 at one time in the second half.  The Otters made 11 three-point field goals in the game.

 

Luke Tillotson scored 20 points to lead the Sabres.  Jacob Bjelland and Thomas Gieske finished with 9 points each.

 

Fergus Falls (12-11) will travel to Cold Spring on Tuesday night to face Rocori, before returning home for games on Thursday against St. Cloud Tech and Friday against Sauk Rapids-Rice.
