The game's leading scorer was Hancock senior guard Bennett Nienhaus who poured in 23 points. Connor Reese contributed 16 and Daniel Milander chipped in with 13 points for the Owls.
The Arrows had four players reach double figures. Christian Norby had 19, Scott Johnson 17, Noah Johnson 14, and Jaden Norby scored 13 points. Ashby shot 47% (22/47) from the field and 55% (11/20) from the free throw line.
“Hancock's athleticism on the perimeter was troublesome for us,” said Ashby Head Coach John Holsten. “They are so quick we had difficulty containing their dribble penetration. Our guys gave a great effort against a very good team though and the coaching staff is very proud of them.”
Ashby travels to Verndale to take on the Pirates Thursday night.
