Barnesville connected on 19-of-30 free throws on Tuesday night, compared to 6-of-8 for Battle Lake as the Trojans recorded a 76-71 road win over the Battlers.

Battle Lake won the battle of the boards 43-28, however, the Battlers struggled to take care of the ball turning it over 24 times in the game.

Barnesville shot 44% (25-56) from the field, led by Kellen Hinsz who had 28 points on 10-of-17 shooting, making 4-of-7 treys.  Hunter Zenzen had 14 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals and Adam Tonsfeldt finished with 11 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals.  Jason Henrickson chipped in with 9 points and Brooks Martinson contributed 5 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals.

Battle Lake hit 45% (28-61) from the field.  Brennan Amundson led the Battlers with 24 points and Brady VanErp added 13.

“We had 24 turnovers and gave up too many ‘O’ boards,” explained Battle Lake Head Coach CJ Peeters.  “We had a chance at the end but couldn’t quite execute.  Barnesville plays a tough style and our guys stepped up late first half and second half to meet that challenge.  Too big of a hole to start. We did some good things and we will use that and build going into the final couple of weeks.”

Barnesville improved to 15-6 overall with their fourth straight victory.  They will play DGF in Glyndon on Thursday night and then go up against Breckenridge in a road game at 2:30pm Saturday.

Battle Lake (8-13) will play at Frazee on Friday night.
