The Hillcrest girls basketball team hosted Parkers Prairie in their final home contest of the season on Tuesday night with the visiting Panthers recording a 74-30 victory over the Comets.

“Parkers Prairie is a disciplined, well-coached team,” noted Hillcrest Head Coach Hannah Clark.  “They played tough defense and they shot the ball really well tonight.  We struggled in the first half to get into any offensive flow. We were flustered by their length and aggressiveness.  In the second half we did a better job of being patient on offense and taking what the defense was giving us.”

Olivia Foss (13 points, 10 rebounds, 5-6 FT) and Mackenzie Foss (13 points, 3 rebounds, 4-5 FT) led the Comets, with Molly McGuire snaring 5 rebounds.

“Olivia led us on offense and did a great job rebounding the ball,” added Coach Clark.  “Mackenzie continues to grow as a player and it was fun to watch her adjust her game in order to find her open shot.”

The Panthers were led by Faith Alberts and Megan Blake with 27 and 16 points, respectively.

Hillcrest (2-19) will close out their regular season with a road game against Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal on Thursday night.

Parkers Prairie (19-2, 10-0 LEC) will host Brandon-Evansville Thursday and play at Underwood Friday to end their regular season schedule.
