Cyclones Pull Away from Spartan Men in Second Half

St. Cloud Technical and Community College trailed 37-36 at halftime to M State, however, the Cyclones dominated the second half outscoring the Spartans 54-24, posting a 90-61 victory on Saturday in St. Cloud.

M State shot just 29.4% (20-68) from the field and made only 6-of-39 3’s (15.4%). Austin Miller (16 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists), Martin LaFond (14 points), Samuel Priem (12 points, 2 assists) and Aaron Solberg (9 rebounds, 2 steals) were the statistical leaders for M State.

The Cyclones had a commanding 52-30 advantage on the boards and shot 48% (29-60) from the field, including 40% (12-30) from beyond the arc. They also went 20-for-23 from the free throw line.

Jazz Boker ripped down 15 rebounds to lead the Cylcones. Eric Racine led them in scoring, coming off the bench to score 19 points while pulling down 7 rebounds. Dillon Haider (18 points, 7 rebounds), Taye Carter (11 points, 7 rebounds), Jimmie McAfee (11 points, 5 assists) and Paul Coleman (11 points, 4 assists) also contributed.

M State (12-13, 5-7 MCAC South) will travel to Rochester on Wednesday and close the regular season with a home game against Western Tech on Saturday afternoon.
