Lady Knights Win Fourth Straight Game

The West Central Area Lady Knights traveled to Wheaton on Friday night to face the Warriors in a conference game. The game was close with the Knights clinging to a 9-4 lead. The Warriors went on a 5-2 run cutting the deficit to 2 points, but the Knights regained their composure and went on a run of their own to finish the half out 35-25. The Knights slowly increased the lead and the final score was 75-56.

 

The Lady Knights were led by Lexi Bright with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks. Morgan Woodle scored 15 points tonight, and added 7 rebounds and 5 steals. Ella Van Kempen had a double-double with 15 points, rebounds, 4 blocks, a steal and an assist. Brynn Fernholz chipped in 9 points, 2 steals, 2 rebounds and an assist. Elizabeth Rustan had 8 points and 6 rebounds. Hailey Bennett scored 4 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. The Ulrich sisters each had 2 points and 2 rebounds and were perfect from the free-throw line. Kennedy added a block and a steal. Ireland Winter had 2 points on the night. Kaitlyn Hansen and Chloe LaRue each had a point on the night. Teagan Nelson and Kaitlyn Sanstead each had 2 rebounds. Brooke Anderson had an assist. Halle Foslien grabbed a rebound.

“Tonight we overcame a weird day for us and played as a unit,” Coach Eric Schoenbauer stated. “This was a great road win for us and it was even better to see the girls doing little things correctly together. We need to continue to work on being on the same page on both ends of the floor.”

The lady Knights (14-6) have won four in a row and will travel to Brandon on Tuesday night to face the Brandon-Evansville Chargers.
