Olivia Winfrey (20 points, 5 steals) made 10-of-17 shots and led five players in double figures for M State. Sydney Hovland (18 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals), Megan Dreger (14 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists), Taylin Schleicher (13 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 assists) and Alexa Mortenson (12 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists) were all in double digits in the scoring column. Kassandra Algarate led the lady Spartans with 5 assists and 7 steals. She also had 8 points and 3 rebounds.
“We were very unselfish throughout the whole game and able to find the open person for easy shots,” said Head Coach Janice Hendrickson of M State. “I was happy overall with how well we defended throughout the game. We got into foul trouble early, but were able to make adjustments.”
Ridgewater was led by Sarah Frederickson and Catherine Vogt with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Morgan Swenson contributed 9 points and 10 rebounds for the lady Warriors.
The next game for M State will on their home court Saturday at 1:00pm against Anoka-Ramsey. The Golden Rams are ranked eighth in the nation in NJCAA Division III Women’s Basketball.
