The Spartans placed five players in double digits, led by Austin Miller with 17 points, including 8-of-9 from the free throw line. Martin LaFond added 14, TJ Martin had 12, Samuel Priem had 11 and Alend Alemadi contributed 10 points off the bench. Aaron Solberg led the team with 10 rebounds and Miller snared 7 boards.
The Spartans shot just 34.4% (21-61) from the field and 27% (7-26) from 3-point range, however, they made 25-of-30 (83%) of their free throw attempts.
Ridgewater shot 38% (21-55) from the field and 78% (21-27) on free throws. They were led by 20 points from Daiviante Ostrander off the bench. Travis Visser came through with a game high 15 rebounds for the Warriors.
M State improves to 12-10 overall and 5-4 in MCAC Southern Division play. They will host Anoka-Ramsey Community College at 3:00pm Saturday. It is their Pink Day where cancer awareness and prevention will take center stage as various fundraising activities will be featured to benefit the Lake Region Healthcare Cancer Care and Research Center in Fergus Falls.
