The Fergus Falls girls hockey team fell behind 2-0 at Moorhead on Tuesday night, but rallied to defeat the Spuds by the score of 5-2.

"Even though we ended up winning the third period and ultimately the game, we were down 2-rip when Mady Eklund made at least three huge saves that kept us in it," reported Fergus Falls Head Coach Tim Lill.  "That changed the momentum and allowed us to start a comeback."

Bri Krejci put Moorhead on the board with an unassisted goal at 4:30 of the second period and a power play goal by Kayla Keller made it 2-0, Spuds.  Ahnika Spanier assisted on Keller's goal.  Jade Zierden cut the lead to 2-1 when she scored from Sophie Rausch and Piper Andrews on the power play at 8:01.  Lexi McGary's goal at 11:42 tied the game with assists going to Vivian Karsnia and Hallie Sheridan.  Rausch put the Otters ahead 3-2 with an unassisted goal.

"McGary tying it at 2-2 lit our bench," said Coach Lill.  "A huge goal for her and her linies"

The Otters received the number one seed in Section 6A and will host a semifinal contest next Tuesday night.  Their opponent will be the winner of Thursday's quarterfinal game between River Lakes and Prairie Center.

Eklund made 14 saves on the night and the Otters put 35 shots on goal.
