The Brandon-Evansville girls basketball team held Long Prairie-Grey Eagle to just eleven first half points as they took a 26-11 halftime lead on the way to a 49-34 win on Saturday in Long Prairie. The win puts the Chargers at 14-5 on the season.

“We played a great defensive first half and were able to take advantage of our size inside which gave us an early lead,” said Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Sam Lange. “We were able to turn our defense into fast break points. LPGE made a run in the 2nd half, but we were able to settle down and played well with the lead to finish the game.”

Bailey Schaefer led B-E with 14 points and Mikenna Pattrin added 13. Sara Jacobson added 8 points, including 4-for-4 from the free throw line.

LPGE was led by 10 points from Hannah Middendorf and 9 points from Kaitlyn Welters.

Brandon-Evansville has a pair of Little Eight Conference games on the schedule this week, hosting Underwood on Tuesday and Ashby on Thursday in Brandon.
