Loge Pours in 34 Points as Tigers Upend Knights

The Morris Area Tigers 6'9" freshmen center Jackson Loge dominated the paint with 34 points as Morris defeated the West Central Area Knights 78-56 at UM-Morris college on Saturday afternoon.

 

Knight Coach Kraig Hunter said, "It seems Morris is always up to play us and they shot the ball better than they have all year.  They have a lot of size and players with physicality.  We got out physicaled in every aspect.  We have got to get better at finishing shots vs physical contact in the paint.  We also did not shoot the ball well from the perimeter."

Morris hit 55% from the field (27-49) and 4-7 threes.  The Knights made only 31% (18-58) and only hit (2-15) threes.   There were fifty total fouls called in the game and 64 free throws shot between the two teams.  Morris made 20-36 from the line and the Knights 18-28.

Morris outrebounded the Knights 45-25.  The Knights had only 9 turnovers and Morris had 10.

Scoring for the Knights were Grant Beuckens with 17 points, Jack VanKempenwith 13, Tate Christenson with 8, Gage Staples 8, Teigen Moritz 3, Blake Koloski 3, Brady Reeve 2, and Kyle Schill 2.  Moritz was the rebounding leader with 8 and Beuckens was the assist leader with 6.

Scoring for Morris was Jackson Loge with 34, Camden Ahrndt 13, Durgin Decker 13, Jaret Johnson 11, Joseph Kleinwolterink 4, Zach Hughes 1, Kevin Asfeld 1 and Cameron Koebernick 1.
