Two streaks ended on Friday night in Alexandria as the Fergus Falls boys basketball team put an end to the Cardinals five game winning streak and their own four game losing streak by posting a 60-51 victory in their Central Lakes Conference battle.

Fergus Falls led 33-24 at halftime and increased their lead to 17 points when Alexandria turned the ball over on their first five possessions of the second half.  An intense, tenacious defensive effort by the Cardinals brought them back to within six points late in the game, however, the Otters were able to withstand the comeback and secure the victory to improve their season record to 9-9 and theri CLC mark to 6-4.

Fergus Falls drained ten 3-point field goals in the game, making all eight of their first half attempts and hitting 10-of-15 on the night.  Dominic Aguilar buried five of his six in the first eighteen minutes and finished with a game high 25 points, while adding a team high 5 assists and three steals.  Bauer Rogelstad had a strong game inside the paint, adding 9 points and 4 rebounds.  Parker Jacobs led the Otters with 8 boards.  Ethan Olson and Ashwin Stratton both scored eight points and grabbed four rebounds.

The Otters clamped down on the Cardinals with an aggressive defensive effort that limited their 6-11 sophomore Treyton Thompson to just 5 points, 12 below his average.  Trey Hoepner was the only Alexandria player to reach double digits, scoring 18 points.  He accounted for three of their eight 3-point field goals.
