Pelican Rapids guard McHale Korf led the way with 16 points as the Pelican Rapids Vikings beat the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines 65-53 in a game at Wadena on Friday night.

The Vikings led 33-26 at the half and also received 15 points from Jayden Rutherford, 13 from Hayden Christenson, and 11 from Eli Sytsma in a balanced scoring effort. The Wolverines were led by Cooper Folkestad's 21 points.

"We came out pretty flat in this one and fell behind 17-6 early in the game," head coach John Gullingsrud said. "We played much better as the first half went on and were able to establish that lead at the half. We pushed the lead to fourteen in the second half, but we could never really put the game away until the final minutes as we still need to do a better job of taking care of the basketball and executing down the stretch."

Wadena-Deer Creek fell to 6-12 overall while Pelican Rapids improved their record to 6-10.
