Otter Bowlers Tied for Conference Lead

It was tough competition in Detroit Lakes on Sunday, as Fergus Falls Maroon gave back their two win lead in the conference, and are now tied for the top spot with Detroit Lakes, just one win ahead of Brainerd.

FF Maroon defeated FF Gold in match one, four games to one. Kacey Fredricksonand Kaitlyn Krensing both filled the match at 100%, with Morgan West at 80%, and Alayna Price with 75%. FF Maroon dropped match two to Brainerd, 2-3, with Krensing leading the team at 91%, and Atlanta Goulet at 87%. Match three was another close match, and another 2-3 loss, to the host team, Detroit Lakes. Krensing (90%) and Morgan Christenson (90%) were team-high. Just past the midway point in the season, the Otters and Detroit Lakes are tied at 7-2, with Brainerd at 6-3.

Sara Johnson (63%) and Amelia Eide (60%) led FF Gold in the loss to FF Maroon in the first match of the day. The 7th and 8th graders posted their high game (189), and series (699) in the match. Mackinzie Brist (40%) was team-high in a 0-5 loss to Perham in match two. Kjerstin Erickson (54%) led the way in a nice, 3-2 win over St Cloud Area in the final match of the day.

Fergus Falls will host the next Central NW conference meet at Northern Aire Lanes, on Sunday, February 3, with competition starting at 1:00 PM.
