The Brandon-Evansville boys basketball team beat Hillcrest 64-57 on Friday night in Fergus Falls.

“Our strong efforts paid off,” commented B-E Head Coach Trent Hintermeister. “We've been so close over our last few games and it all came together tonight. We took care of the ball and because of that were able to get quality shots on offense. We need to continue to improve as the second half of the season is upon us.”

Tanner Bitzan (22 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists), Keagan Schiele (14 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, 3 steals) and Sam Fuller (11 points, 2 rebounds) led the Chargers. Marshall Riedel added 9 points and a pair of steals.

Brandon-Evansville made 48% (21-43) of their field goal attempts and connected on 8-of-20 (40%) from beyond the arc.

The win snapped a three game losing streak for the Chargers and puts them at 7-8 on the season. They will travel to Rothsay for their next game on Tuesday night.

The Comets are now 8-5. They will go to Ashby to face the Arrows in their next game on Tuesday night.
