Declan Young Scores Four Goals in Otters 6-2 Win over Willmar

The Fergus Falls boys hockey team had 55 shots on goal Friday night in their 6-2 win over the Willmar Cardinals in a Central Lakes Conference battle at the Community Ice Arena in Fergus Falls. 

 

Willmar got on the board first when Isaiah Cameron tallied an unassisted goal just eight seconds into the game. A goal at 8:40 by Isaac Young tied the game at 1-1. Mike DeBrito assisted on the goal. Declan Young put the Otters ahead 2-1 at 15:31 with DeBrito and Chase Jensen assisting. 

In the second period, Cole Zierden scored from Isaac Young and Mike DeBrito at 6:32 and Declan Young added a power play goal from Colton Partain and Mason Hoffman at 15:28. 

Declan Young scored an unassisted power play goal at 5:07 of the third and recorded his fourth goal of the game at 8:39, assisted by Jensen. Willmar wrapped up the scoring when Ashton Gregory scored from Devin Sankey and Eldridge DeKraai at 15:31.

Ian Stumbo returned to the nets after missing several games due to illness and stopped 13 of the 15 shots he faced. 

Fergus Falls (7-11-2) will play at Alexandria on Thursday night.
