The Fergus Falls girls basketball team scored the first 13 points of the game on Friday night, led 49-12 at halftime, and completed a season sweep of the Rocori Spartans with a 75-26 win at the Kennedy Secondary School Gold Gymnasium.  It was the Otters fifth straight victory and improves their season record to 13-3.

The Otters collected assists on 26 of their 31 made baskets, led by eleven from Tori Ratz and five from Sam Evavold.  Fergus Falls also held a 36-19 edge on the boards, led by Paige Pearson and Sabrina Fronning with 7 and 6 rebounds, respectively.

Three Otters were in double figures on the night, led by Ellie Colbeck with 21, including five 3's, Lily Pearson with 13 and Sabrina Fronning with 12, all in the first half.

"We put the ball in the basket at a very efficient rate in the first half, making 76% of our two-point field goals," said Fergus Falls Head Coach Brad Strand.  "We also did a nice job on the boards, outrebounding them by 17 in the game and 11 assists from Tori Ratz was fun to see.  She is the third different player, joining Sabrina Fronning and Ellie Colbeck, to have double digit assists in a game this season.  I loved our focus and execution on both ends of the floor to start the game."

Rocori struggled to take care of the ball, committing 26 turnovers on the night.  Junior Laney Griffin scored 6 points off the bench to lead the Spartans.

Fergus Falls will host Little Falls in the second half of a girl/boy doubleheader on Saturday night.

The Otter JV team improved to 14-1 with a 63-24 win over Rocori.  Anna Anderson had 21 points and Abby Tysdal scored 11.  The 'C' team went to 13-1 with a 43-29 win.  They were led by eleven points from Emily Nuss and 10 points from Hannah Polejewski.
