The Fergus Falls girls hockey team saw their five game winning streak come to an end on Tuesday night with a 3-2 overtime loss to Brainerd/Little Falls at the Community Ice Arena in Fergus Falls.  The Otters were outshot 29-17 in the game, but goalie Jadyn McKeever stopped 26 shots by the Flying Warriors.

The visitors scored at the 6:30 mark of the opening period when Marre Welinskinotched the goal and assists went to Lindsey Booth and Olivia Wiskow.

Fergus Falls pulled even at 5:49 of the second on a power play goal by Jade Zierden, assisted by Sophie Rausch.  Brainerd/Little Falls answered with a power play goal of their own at 6:45.  The goal was scored by Cheyenne Abear and assisted by Abby Pohlkamp.  Another power play goal with just five seconds left in the period tied the game as Chloe Nelson scored from Rausch and Hallie Sheridan.

The third period was scoreless, but 2:01 into overtime Pohlkamp scored a rebound goal from Abear and Booth to give the Flying Warriors the victory.

"That was the hardest I've seen the girls work all season," commented Fergus Falls Head Coach Tim. Lill.  "Hats off to Brainerd, they have a very skilled team.  Hallie Sheridan, along with the entire defensive corps played a phenomenal game.  I'm very proud of this team."

The Otters (16-6) will host River Lakes on Thursday.
