Trailing by seven at halftime, the Fergus Falls girls basketball team came out strong in the second half as they outscored the Hawley Nuggets 38-21 over the final eighteen minutes to post a 59-49 win.  Fergus Falls made 21-of-30 free throws in the game. There were twelve lead changes and seven ties in the contest.

"I'm just so proud of the way we battled back in the second half," said Head Coach Brad Strand.  "We brought intensity and executed extremely well down the stretch.  So many girls made plays to help us get the 'W'.  This was a very good win against a very good Hawley team."

Ellie Colbeck (24 points, 10-11FT, 9 rebounds, 3 assists), Sabrina Fronning (12 points, 3 assists, 3 steals) and Lily Pearson (10 points, 16 rebounds) led the Otters.

Paige Thompson led Hawley with 17 points and Rianna Lilleby hit three 3's on the way to an eleven point performance.

The Otters forced 21 Hawley turnovers on the night.

Fergus Falls (11-3) will host Sartell on Tuesday night.
