Anoka-Ramsey shot 54% (33-61) from the field and placed five players in double figures on Wednesday night as the Rams posted a 97-89 victory over the M State Spartans in Coon Rapids. The Spartans trailed 44-36 at the half and each team scored 53 second half points.
Austin Miller had a big night for the Spartans, scoring a game high 33 points and dishing out a team high 5 assists. Martin LaFond added 12 points and Aaron Solberg had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Alend Alemadicontributed 11 points off the bench and Kyler Newman scored 8.
The leading scorer for Anoka-Ramsey was Justin Castro with 20 points. Jalen Dunlap contributed 17 points, 5 steals and 3 assists and Beau Nelson added 15 points and 9 rebounds. DeAndre Jones recorded a double-double (14 points, 10 rebounds) and dished out 4 assists. Nashiem Lozier came off the bench with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Jackson Odegard added 8 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds and 2 steals.
M State is now 8-8 overall and 1-2 in MCAC Southern Division play. They will travel to Austin to face Riverland on Saturday and will host St. Cloud Community and Technical College on Wednesday, January 23 in Fergus Falls.
