Trojans Brenner and Poepping Advance to Finals at Paynesville

Chase Brenner of the Barnesville Trojans captured first place in the 120 pound weight class at the Paynesville Wrestling Invitational on Friday. Jackson Poeppingtook second place at 220 pounds. 

 

Brenner won by pin over Tyler Murset of Spectrum in his quarterfinal match, won a 6-1 decision over Dusty Wilke of Grand Rapids in the semifinals and recorded a 6-3 decision over Blaine Fischer of Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa in the championship match. 

Poepping pinned his first two opponents, Thaniel Cebulla of B-B-E and Ethan Kay of Eden Valley-Watkins, before being pinned by Cole Fibranz of Sartell-St. Stephen in the finals. 

Brady Kroll (170) and Tim Boone (126) each placed fourth in their respective weight classes and Ayden Hauck (106) was fifth. 

Sixth place finishers for the Trojans were Wyatt Roller (132) and Nathan Rehder(138).
