“We had a very good overall defense performance from everyone who played,” noted Hillcrest Head Coach Gregg Preston. “Logan Disabella and Gabriel Preston played well in every aspect of the game. Sander Frustol was in double figures for the sixth time in the last seven games. Since Christmas, our intensity, toughness, and defensive communication have drastically improved and we are very pleased with the steady progress that we have made each week throughout the season.”
Leaders for Hillcrest were Preston (17 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists), Frustol (11 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals) and Disabella (10 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists). Nick Foss added 5 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals.
“We didn’t shoot well and couldn’t match Hillcrest and their intensity or fight,” commented Battle Lake Head Coach CJ Peeters. “They wanted it more and we backed down. No time to wait as we play Pelican Rapids on Saturday at Concordia. We have to continue to build and buy-in.”
Brennan Amundson led Battle Lake with 16 points and Nick VanErp joined him in double digits with ten.
